What is computer? The word "Computer" originated from Latin word 'compute'. 'compute' means to calculate or count. an electronic machine that can store data an find information, do calculations and control other machine is a called computer. Full form of computer : C = Common O = Operating M = Machine P = Purpose U = Useful T = Technology E = Education R = Research   Advantage and Dis-advantage of Computer : Advantage : It may help you solve problems faster than an ordinary human being can do. It operates with almost 100% accuracy. It is capable of doing required task again and again without any difficulty. It has capability of storing huge amount of data. It can perform variety of jobs. It helps you automate various tasks that you can not do manually. Dis-Advantage It is an automatic device, even it requires operator to operate the computer. It is very expensive in comparison to other electronic devices, so every people can not afford it. It can not think itself to give decisions. It requires technical person for maintained if it does not work properly. It may effect to the destruction of your eye sight due to radiation. C.P.U. (Central Processing Unit) C.P.U. is the most important part of the Computer System. It is also known as the heart of the computer. Function of cpu are as follows : A. M.U. (Memory Unit) : B. ALU (Arithmetic and Logical Unit) C. C.U. (Control Unit)
